cheesesandwiches asked: how did you go about dieting or more over, leading a healthier lifestyle? What did you eat and how often did you exercise?

I started my lifestyle change about 3-4 years ago. I was 238lbs and it just hit me like a brick wall one day that I had to make a change or else I was going to live a very short life filled with too much struggling. I started walking every single day since running was out of the question… making sure to eat a simple but fiber-filled breakfast (like non-fat yogurt with fruit/flax seed or whole grain granola), balanced lunch (spinach salad with feta, kidney beans, tomatoes and oil/vinegar) and then something like salmon/chicken with a little brown rice and veggies for dinner.

It’s all about proportion. You can honestly eat whatever you want, as long as it’s all in proportion. I snacked a lot on fruits and vegetables but made sure they were in smaller pieces (cut up carrots, cherry tomatoes, grapes) because then it gave me the satisfaction of munching on a lot of something.

All my walking turned into slow jogging and then toning. I can email you a slew of exercise ideas and healthy eating tips if you message me your email! Mind you it took a little over 3 years for me to go from 238 to 141 and only recently have I announced my actual weight with the world. Losing 1-2lbs a week is healthy and I honestly wouldn’t recommend losing more than that per week. You want time for your body to adjust and, as gross as it sounds, your skin to adjust so you don’t get that excess flab from rapid weight loss.

I hope this little bit helps! Feel free to shoot me your email! I’d love to chat and share tips and workout ideas.
