Pokeball Cupcakes
Went to a lovely BBQ/Pool party this weekend in celebration of summer and a friend turning a quarter-of-a-century old. I figured I’d surprise him with some themed cupcakes and what better theme for a 25-year-old comic/cartoon junkie than Pokemon!
There’s really no need for instructions on how to make these suckers. I did a simple yellow cake box mix and made some butter cream frosting, adding food coloring for the red (food coloring paste works best with butter cream). I picked up a tube of black cake decorating gel and spent a good chunk of my Saturday morning in the kitchen getting creative.
Just thought I would share how some last-minute, spur-of-the-moment baking could turn out to be a great success and why a kitchen should always have supplies for mornings like that one!
